Pittsburgh, PA played host to ADmerica 2025 this June and AAF Buffalo showed up ready to make the most of it. Five of our board members hit the road and made the short drive to attend the American Advertising Federation’s annual conference, a four-day event packed with conversations, creativity, and chances to grow as leaders in the ad world. And let me tell you, what a week it was!

From exceptional speakers to insightful workshops, ADmerica truly delivered on its promise to elevate our personal and professional approach to excellence. It was an incredible opportunity to gain insights from industry leaders, celebrate creative brilliance, and connect with AAF chapters from across the nation.

A Warhol Welcome

Our ADmerica journey kicked off with the Creators Kick-off Reception at The Andy Warhol Museum. What better way to spark creativity than surrounded by the iconic pop art of Andy Warhol himself? We had a fantastic time networking with fellow AAF members from far and wide, touring the museum, and setting the stage for a conference filled with learning and inspiration.

The Power of Sports to Build Brands

Friday morning, we dove straight into an illuminating Breakfast & Opening Keynote: The Power of Sports to Build Brands. This session highlighted the fascinating partnership between Octagon Sports and Bank of America. We got some serious insights into their brand and agency collaboration, and learned all about the bank's strategic sponsorship approach with professional sports teams and marathons, like the renowned Chicago Marathon and their relationship with Augusta National. It was a fascinating look at how major brands leverage the power of sports to connect with their audiences.

Leveling Up Our Chapter!

A significant amount of our time was spent attending various chapter management roundtables. These sessions were invaluable for learning best practices on improving programming, optimizing membership recruitment and retention strategies, and enhancing overall club functions. We left with a ton of new ideas to bring back and implement for AAF Buffalo!

Celebrating Creative Excellence: The MOSAIC 10 Awards

We were thrilled to attend the MOSAIC 10 Awards, a unique recognition that celebrates creative excellence in campaigns that truly resonate with today's diverse audiences. It was inspiring to see the incredible work being produced across the industry. This year, "Javier in Frame" by Gut Miami and Google Creative Lab for Google Pixel took the top spot, with "Traditions Shared" from Panda Express + The Many coming in at a close second. You can view all of this year's Mosaic 10 winners here.

American Advertising Awards Gala!

One of the undeniable highlights was the American Advertising Awards Gala & Dinner. It was an evening of glitz and glamour, celebrating the national award winners from across the entire United States. Witnessing the pinnacle of creative achievement from our peers was truly inspiring and a fantastic reminder of the talent within the advertising community.

AAF Buffalo Brings Home the Golds (and Silvers!)

And last but certainly not least, we were incredibly proud to see AAF Buffalo recognized for our hard work and dedication! In the National Club Achievement Competition, we were named Division 3 winners in multiple categories, including:

  • 1st Place in Club Operations
  • 1st Place in Membership Development and Communications
  • 2nd Place in Programming
  • 2nd Place in Public Service

These accolades are a testament to the incredible efforts of our entire AAF Buffalo organization and our dedicated members. It was an honor to represent Buffalo on a national stage and demonstrate the passion and commitment that drives our chapter.

We want to extend a massive thank you to all of our members for your amazing engagement! AAF Buffalo simply wouldn't be the vibrant community it is today without each and every one of our 200+ members. Your passion, participation, and dedication are what make this organization so special. We're already hard at work planning an exciting lineup, so get ready for a fantastic programming and event schedule to be announced this September!
